Elective modules and key qualifications for ACES

All modules from the 4 majors may alternatively be taken as electives.
Language courses at a certain minimum level may also be taken as electives or key qualifications
- German language courses* (offered by FAU language centre or vhb¹)
- English language courses (level min. C1)* For further information on courses offered: https://sz.fau.eu/easp/
Seminars offered by SSC TF can be recognized as key qualifications. https://www.tf.fau.de/veranstaltungen-tf/studierende/ Some of these courses are offered in English. (For seminars taken place Fridays and Saturdays, you will receive 0,5 ECTS.) After completion, please submit your application for recognition.

The following vhb German language courses are permitted as key qualifications:

Deutsch als Fremdsprache A1: German after English (3 ECTS; host: University of Regensburg)
Deutsch als Fremdsprache A2: Strukturen für die Kommunikation (3 ECTS; host: University of Würzburg)
Deutsch als Fremdsprache B1: Gesprochene Sprache verstehen (2,5 ECTS; host: FAU)
Deutsch als Fremdsprache B1: Korrekt formulieren (2,5 ECTS; host: FAU)
Deutsch als Fremdsprache B1: Wortschatz (3 ECTS; host: University of Würzburg)
Deutsch als Fremdsprache B2 – C2: Phonetik (3 ECTS; host university: University of Regensburg)
Deutsch als Fremdsprache B2: Akademisches Lesen (3 ECTS; host: University of Würzburg)
Deutsch als Fremdsprache B2: Grammatische Strukturen im wissenschaftssprachlichen Kontext (2 ECTS; host: FH Nürnberg (GSO))
Deutsch als Fremdsprache B2: Korrekt formulieren (2,5 ECTS; host: FAU)
Deutsch als Fremdsprache B2: Wortschatz (3 ECTS; host: University of Würzburg)
Deutsch als Fremdsprache C1: Akademisches Lesen (3 ECTS; host: University of Würzburg)

Deutsch als Fremdsprache C1: Schreiben im Studium (2 ECTS; host: FH Nürnberg (GSO))
Deutsch als Fremdsprache C1/C1+: Fachsprache Wirtschaft (2, 5 ECTS; host: FAU)

Please choose an appropriate course according to your language level. ACES Master students have to complete a minimum of 2,5 ECTS for key qualifications. If you take a language course with 2 ECTS, we recommend that you attend a seminar offered by SSC TF to gain the remaining 0,5 ECTS.

Those courses that are graded may also be taken as elective modules.

Course Accreditation

If you have successfully completed a vhb language course, please send your request for recognition, together with your certificate, directly to the Examinations Office.
For vhb language courses hostet by FAU, please register via campo if this is possible.
